4 days of ski touring - Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday - and 1 day off during the week.
LEVEL 2
Try your hand at ski touring.
Get to know this wonderful discipline, on introductory itineraries with descents on groomed pistes (or nearby), in half-day or short-day sessions.
Conditions: suitable for good skiers comfortable on red runs, with little or no off-piste skiing experience. 3 to 4 hours ski touring per day and 300m to 500m D+.
Afternoon free for relaxation. Access to fitness centre included.
Saturday
Morning: Free, end of stay after lunch.
* Possibility of free skiing on Saturday morning.
Please note The programme is given as a guide only. To vary the pleasures, the guides are free to use their imagination and suggest new itineraries. Situations beyond our control may also lead us to modify the day's itineraries and activities (weather, level of participants, group safety, etc.).
Important
To get to the starting point of the hikes, participants' cars will have to be shared.
Level of participants: on site, our instructors are the best judges. If a participant does not meet the specified level criteria, they may be offered a more suitable course! The Auberge Nordique cannot be held responsible for any lack of level observed during the stay.
Important: in winter in the mountains, temperatures can vary considerably. You'll need to bring warm, waterproof clothing.
The price includes:
✓ Full-board accommodation from Sunday for lunch to the following Saturday after lunch.
✓ Bathroom linen.
✓ Supervision of the chosen activities by state-qualified professionals, from Monday morning to Friday evening with Wednesday free (subject to change due to weather conditions).
✓ Evening entertainment on certain days of the week.
✓ "Auberge Nordique - Le Grand Bornand" ski buses.
✓ Full cross-country ski equipment (Salomon SNS Pilot / Prolink standard).
The price does not include:
✓ The €6 membership card.
✓ The tourist tax of €0.80 (2023 rate - awaiting 2024 rate) per night and per adult over 18.
✓ Drinks and extras.
✓ Transport from your place of residence and to the departure points of the hikes.
✓ Alpine ski touring equipment.

Equipement
For ski outings:
✓ Hat.
✓ 2 pairs of gloves: light cross-country type gloves and warm gloves.
✓ Overpants-type ski trousers, tights or technical underwear.
✓ Several pairs of socks, long-sleeved breathable t-shirts, breathable underpants, "Wind stopper" soft-shell or light down jacket or fleece.
✓ 1 Goretex-type windbreaker.
For evenings:
✓ Change of clothes.
✓ Indoor shoes or a pair of slippers.
✓ Swimsuit and bath sheet-or bathrobe-required for access to the wellness area.
Don't forget your pharmacy:
✓ Your usual medicines.
✓ Painkillers, preferably paracetamol.
✓ Adhesive or elastic bandage (Elastoplast type, 6cm wide).
✓ Sets of adhesive dressings and disinfectant compresses.
✓ Double skin (anti-ampulla dressings).
Equipment
✓ Skis, boots, poles, skins, knives (try the boots on for size). If you hire them, ask us for advice.
✓ Valid identity card or passport.
✓ Large plastic bag or 1 over-bag to protect your rucksack.
✓ Water bottle holder, flask or Camel-Bak (minimum 1L container).
✓ Pocket knife, cutlery and reusable cup for picnics.
✓ Pair of highly protective sunglasses (CE rating 3 or 4 essential).
✓ Tube of sun cream and lip stick, with a high sun protection factor.
NOTE: downhill ski touring equipment is not included in the holiday price. Possibility of hiring in the resort or coming with your own equipment.
