Sunday
Morning: Welcome and lunch at L’Auberge Nordique.
Afternoon: Introduction to the group and the instructor. Warm-up session in the valley.
Evening: Overview of the trip followed by a welcome drink.
Monday
Day: Full-day hike ‘Animal tracks in the Tannaz area’: encountering winter wildlife.
Tuesday
Day: Full-day hike ‘Le Grand Balcon des Aravis’ for an unforgettable crossing.
Please note: cable car tickets must be purchased (at extra cost).
Wednesday
Morning: Free morning. Opportunity to visit the Reblochon cheese market in Le Grand-Bornand.
Afternoon: Walk through the forest and past alpine chalets towards Les Frasses Jacquier. Enjoy a bird’s-eye view of Le Grand-Bornand.
Thursday
Day: Full-day hike to the ‘Vallée des Confins’ or the ‘Plateau de Samance’ at the foot of the Roc des Tours, or to the ‘Plateau de Beauregard’ for a total immersion in the heart of nature.
Friday
Day: Full-day hike to the ‘Col des Aravis’ with views of Mont Blanc.
Saturday
Morning: Free time; the holiday ends after lunch. * Option to go for a walk on your own on Saturday morning.
Important: The programme is provided for guidance only. To keep things interesting, the instructors are free to use their imagination and suggest new routes. Circumstances beyond our control may also lead us to alter the day’s routes and activities (weather, participants’ ability, group safety, etc.).

To reach the starting point for the hikes, L'Auberge Nordique has several minibuses available, but on occasion, some journeys may be made using participants’ own cars.
Participants’ ability level: once on site, our instructors are the best judges. If a participant does not meet the specified ability criteria, they may be offered a more suitable course! L’Auberge Nordique cannot be held liable if a participant’s level is found to be insufficient during the stay.
Important: in the mountains in winter, temperature variations can be significant. You must bring warm and waterproof clothing.
The price includes:
- Full-board accommodation from Sunday lunch until the following Saturday after lunch.
- Towels.
- Supervision of chosen activities by state-qualified professionals (instructors or mountain guides), from Sunday 2.30 pm to Friday 5 pm (Wednesday morning free).
- Evening entertainment on certain days of the week.
- The ‘Auberge Nordique – Le Grand Bornand’ ski buses.
- Full cross-country skiing equipment (Salomon SNS Pilot / Prolink standard).
The price does not include:
- The €6 membership card.
- Tourist tax (see current rates) per night and per adult over 18 years of age.
- Drinks and extras.
- Transport from your place of residence.
- The Nordic Pass for cross-country skiers.

Equipement
For snowshoe outings:
- A hat.
- 2 pairs of gloves.
- Warm, windproof trousers + a lighter pair of trousers.
- Several pairs of socks.
- A jacket, waterproof rainwear, 1 windproof jacket (e.g. Goretex) and 1 fleece jacket or 1 thick jumper.
- Hiking boots with lugged soles.
For evenings:
- A change of clothes.
- Indoor shoes or a pair of slippers.
- Swimsuit and bath towel – or bathrobe – compulsory for access to the wellness area.
Equipment:
- Valid ID card or passport.
- Rucksack (20–30 litres) for your day’s belongings and a packed lunch.
- Large plastic bag or a rain cover to protect your rucksack.
- Water bottle holder, water bottle or CamelBak (minimum 1-litre capacity).
- Pocket knife, cutlery and reusable cup for picnics.
- A pair of sunglasses offering high protection (CE rating 3 or 4 essential).
- Tube of sun cream and lip balm, with a high sun protection factor.
- Camera and a pair of binoculars (optional).
First aid kit:
- Your usual medication.
- Painkillers, preferably paracetamol.
- Adhesive or elastic bandage (Elastoplast type, 6cm wide).
- Plasters and antiseptic wipes.
- Blister plasters.
