If you're looking for a challenge, get ready for the thrill of the Ultra Traversée Des Aravis!

A 4-day crossing of the Aravis mountains, with wild and grandiose itineraries for lovers of wide open spaces and elevation changes. A trek in "fast-hiking" mode, with 1050m to 1800m of ascent + per day and with some off-trail and/or aerial sections. A sporty itinerary for discovering the Aravis from every angle.

No portage, only a backpack day.

Day 1 - Meeting at the Auberge Nordique at the end of the afternoon. Presentation of the trek. Meal and overnight stay at the Auberge Nordique.

Day 2 - Early departure for transfer by minibus to the col des Annes 1730m. Climb to the Pointe Percée hut (2100m) and the Col des Verts (2500m). Aerial descent to the col de Doran, then into the magnificent combe des Fours (2120m). Climb to the Grande Forcle pass (2311m), then descent to the névé of the combe sauvage.
Night at the Bombardelle Refuge (1600m).

Day 3 - Departure at dawn for the Tardevant lake (2110m) and its combe (2370m). Crossing off-path to reach the combe de Paccaly, and the trou de la Mouche (2450m).
Descent into the combe de Grand Crêt then climb to tête Pelouse (2537m).
Long descent to the Confins car park (1450m) then a balcony crossing along the Bélier path, towards the crêt du Merle, Crévetout and the Aravis d'en bas, to reach our accommodation.

Day 4 - Col de Merdassier (1500m), then a quick descent to the Comburce car park (1187m).
Climb to the Creuse passage, to the Passant pass (2000m), before reaching the immense alpine pastures of Tardevant and the aerial ridges of the three Aiguilles (2220m).
Peaceful descent to the Lac de Champ Tardif, the Aulp du Fier d'en bas and the foot of the combe (1543m). Short climb to the Freu (1700m) before reaching our accommodation (1500m).
Night in a refuge (l'Aulp de Marlens or Les Fontanettes).

D5 - Loop hike on the Mont Charvin pyramid. The day starts with the ascent to the Porthets pass (2072m), and the crossing to the Charvin lake (2000m) before joining the aerial ascent of the Charvin and its summit (2409m). We descend to the refuge where we collect our belongings, before the final descent to the Savatte car park.

Important

PHYSICAL AND TECHNICAL LEVEL
For very good walkers, in good physical condition, used to walking several days in a row. From 6h30 to 8h of walking per day with a backpack of 6-8 kg on mountain trails.
With some technical and/or aerial passages. Temperatures may be cool if the weather is overcast.
Do not hesitate to consult us if you have any doubt about the level required.

WITHOUT PORTERAGE
Personal belongings for the day and lunch. Backpack of about 8 kg. Ideally a maximum of 10% of your weight.

GROUP AND SUPERVISION
For this hike, from 4 to 7 participants, the supervision is ensured by a mountain guide with a state diploma in mountaineering. Refuge, Auberge and/or hotels. Hot meals and packed lunches are prepared by the refuges, hotels or by the Auberge Nordique.

INSURANCE
We cannot replace the civil responsibility of each person. To take part in our trips and stays, it is compulsory to have civil liability insurance and to be covered for assistance, search and rescue, repatriation and mountain accidents.

FORMALITIES
Participants must carry their valid identity card and their social security card.

The price includes :
o Supervision by a professional.
o Half-board accommodation in refuges, gites, inns or hotels - rooms or dormitories.
o Picnic lunches.
o Transport on site and transport of luggage.

The price does not include
o Transport to the Auberge Nordique.
o Drinks or personal expenses.
o The membership card to the Auberge Nordique (6€).
o Cancellation, Assistance and Repatriation insurance. Check with your insurance company to see if you are covered.
o Personal shopping supplies
o Everything that is not included in the "price includes".
o Accommodation at the end of the trek.

Equipement

RECOMMENDED EQUIPMENT
o A backpack for the day (about 20 to 25 litres).
o A bag to carry your luggage (change of clothes for the refuge) maximum 8 kg.
o Trekking poles (if needed).
o Mini flashlight or headlamp or telephone lamp.
o Water bottle or plastic bottle of sparkling water, folding knife.
o Personal running supplies.
o Hiking shoes with treaded soles and in good condition.
o Silk or very thin sheet for the refuge (blankets or duvets provided).
o Transparent plastic bags to protect the clothes in the bag.

RECOMMENDED CLOTHING
o Hat or headband or bluff, cap.
o 2 breathable T-shirts and 1 breathable undershirt.
o 1 softshell jacket or jumper, fleece ... warm.
o 1 protective gore-tex jacket for rain and wind.
o 1 pair of breathable, stretchy hiking trousers and 1 pair of shorts.
o 1 long or ¾ length thermal underwear (odlo, patagonia...) for the night or under the walking trousers if it is cold or for a change when arriving at the gite if necessary.
o 2 pairs of hiking socks.

PERSONAL BELONGINGS
o Small toiletries and toilet bowls
o Small medicines, arnica, doliprane... elastoplast, blister bandages.
o Sunglasses (index 4), sun cream.
o Identity and insurance papers, telephone numbers, money ... in a mini waterproof pouch.

THE WEIGHT OF YOUR BACKPACK SHOULD NOT EXCEED 6-8 KG
Save room for the lunches that will be provided each day.

MOBILE PHONES AND RECHARGING OF CAMERA BATTERIES
Access to phone networks is uncertain in the mountains. A phone battery can last a week if you only turn it on occasionally.

CONDITIONS TO BE RESPECTED
o Minimum age: 18 years.
o Medical certificate of fitness for hiking to be submitted before departure.

NOTE
The hike can be cancelled at least 15 days before the departure date if the number of participants is too low, an alternative solution will be proposed.
